PAPERBOYS HISTORY HISTORYINGLEWOOD INGLEWOOD Calif June 3 Paperboy a starter in Saturdays Will Rogers Handi ¬ cap at Hollywood Park was bred in Eng ¬ land and imported by Maj Austin C Taylor master of the ACT Stock Farm Major Taylor according to Darrell Cannon pur ¬ chased Paperboy a son of the English Derby winneT Papyrus for 3750 out of a wean ¬ ling sale during a business trip to England in 1938 Paperboy along with Cosco Cheer ¬ ful Star and Lamberthdale which Major Taylor also bought in the weanling sale landed in America later in the fall of 1938 When Major Taylor disposed of his racing stock Paperboy along with Special Agent and Sweet Grapes was sold to his present owner Harry M Warner WarnerAt At first we thought Paperboy was the worst of the lot said Cannon but now he looks to be the best Hes just learning how to run Hes a green longrlegged fellow and its just taken him time to develop
