Edwin Simpson and Raymond Simpson are handling the photochart cameras at the current Narragansett meeting. The Simpson brothers came to the Rhode Island course after serving at the recent I Tropical Park session. • $ Kenneth "Red" Mcintosh is again a « member of the racing secretarys staff at Gansett, reporting to Ty Shea after ar- riving from Florida. Lester H. Smith, former owner and j trainer, is the newly appointed official , timer at Narragansett. i Jimmy Ackerman, who is without horses at present, checked in and plans to remain throughout the New England season. t 1 Walter Hapgood, widely-known editor of ] the Horsemens News, came to Narragan- sett from Hot Springs. Hapgood, a regular on the New England circuit, wintered in Florida, Louisiana and Arkansas, and is ] enjoying excellent health. t i Earle Simmons, who wintered here, has i taken over the training of C. Rufis Mint- lock and One Tip. Simmons also has Mat- j tie Sue, which will run under the colors of Mrs. H. R. Lewis, wife of the well known | veterinarian. ] H. H. Haag, Detroit, is a visitor at Gan- sett to inspect his stable of nine horses i j trained by Jessie Johnson. i -"™""~~ i Robby Robertson checked in and bedded down 14 horses late Thursday. Besides | horses of his own, Robertson is training the , ; Christopher Ranch horses that were j trained by Albred Robertson, his son, in Florida. i Jesse Burks, long-time a New England i regular, arrived from Florida this morning with four head, Balmy Spring, Jamoke, | Busy Nine and Budded. Joe Binstocks Navy Time, badly beaten off in Thursdays fifth race, has been ; placed on the Narragansett stewards list. Tommy Queen arrived from Tropical Park with six head, the property of Irving Gushen. Two more belonging to A. L. Aste were being shipped from New York to join the stable.
