April 14.— Of the 11 fillies eligible to start in the seventieth Kentucky Derby, to be run at Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 6, the one most likely to take part in the fixture is Harriet Sue, owned by Hyman Friedberg of this city. According to Jack Hanover, who devel-/ oped the sterling daughter of Bull Lea, she will make her three-year-old debut in the Ashland Stakes, a six-furlong feature of the Keeneland meeting, to be renewed on Wednesday. She looms a pronounced fa-i vorite to take the mid-week stake. "I am not strong for starting her in the Derby, said Hanover, "but Mr. Friedberg feels differently about it, and well just have to wait for his final decision. Right now I would say she holds a 50-50 chance to go in the Derby." In her first campaign, Harriet Sue ac-r counted for eight of her 14 engagements, including the Shawnee Park Handicap. Her eight triumphs made her the most frequent winner among the juveniles of the past year.
