Preece; bred by Mrs. C. 0. Iselin. WENT TO POST-5:31. OFF AT 5:31 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and thirds the same. QUATREFOIL, in hand while saving ground along the inside, moved into command when ready, was under steady pressure and drifted out through the stretch while holding HIBERNIAN safe. The latter was under steadying restraint while close to the pace, moved willingly, but was unable to reach the leader. PLACERVILLE closed strongly when put to pressure and earned a dead-heat with SCHOHARIE. The latter established the pace for a mile, held on gamely when challenged, then tired nearing the end. SHELLMAR weakened. CLOUDCHASER was outrun. Overweight— Schoharie, 1 pound; Shellmar, 1. Attendance, 8,602; Total Mutuel Pool, 00,904.
