Old Rosebud Bred at Piatt Place LEXINGTON, Ky., May 6.— Old Rosebud, Kentucky Derby winner of 1914, was raised on what is now the Crestwood Farm of Thomas Carr Piatt. At that time the farm was operated by J: D. and T. B. Carr, uncles of the present owner. Even earlier the farm was known as the Carr, Piatt and Young Farm, the Piatt being Thomas Piatt and the Young, Colonel Milton Young, father of trainer Thomas B. Young and steward Jack Young.
