Dutch Reduce Swedens Lead In Davis Cup; Belgians Win THE HAGUE, Netherlands, May 6 UP. — Holland defeated Sweden in doubles today and reduced the Swedes lead to two matches to one in the first round of their European Zone Davis Cup elimination. One match from being eliminated in the best-of-five series, Hollands Hans Van Swol and Ivo Rinkel kept the Netherlands hopes alive by downing Lennart Bergelin and Torsten Johansson of Sweden 6-3, 5-7, 2-6, 8-6, 6-1. BRUSSELS, Belgium, May 6 UP.— Belgium took a two to nothing lead over Finland today in first-round play of the best-of-five Davis Cup European Zone play. Philippe Washer, number one Belgian player, defeated second-ranking Pentti Foreman of Finland 6-2, 6-0, 6-2, and Jacques Brichant downed Sakari Salo, who is ranked number one in Finland, 6-4, 8-6, 6-4.
