Flaxeys Colby Seeking Third in Row at Maywood Darnleys Dream His Main Foe rn North Shore Trot Tonight MAYWOOD PARK, Maywood, HI., June 2. — Flaxeys Colby, seeking his third straight victory and sixth of the season, will lead a field of 11 young stake trotters to the post Tuesday night in the North Shore Trot at Maywood Park. The stake will be raced as the third and sixth races, both at one mile, for a purse of ,300. After a fair season in 1951, Flaxeys Colby has proved himself one of the most consistent young trotters at the current meeting. The four-year-old colt has started 10 times, winning five and finishing second once. Flaxeys Colby is owned by R. F. Parrish of Ottumwa, la., and will be driven by Hollis Regur. • His chief competition is expected from Darnleys Dream, .owned by Mrs. Vera Shine of Columbus, Ga„ and Roy Riegles Jerry Darnley, from Greeneville, O. Darnleys Dreams victims during the streak included Flaxeys Colby. Jerry Darnley, which will be driven by owner Riegle, has two victories behind it. Completing the North Shore field will be Lyde, Last Call, Velas Girl, Guy Colbyr Bills Order, Merry March, Rebel Queen, and Byland. The latter four will be* grouped as a field entry for mutuel purposes. Atomic Might, already established as a horse to contend with in the 0,000 Chicago Pacing Derby June 20, will attempt to notch another pre-derby victory in the eighth race, a ,250 open pace. The long-gaited stallion has won four of its last five appearances and owns the fastest mile of the meeting, 2:04%. Atomic Mights competition includes movie actor Charles Coburns Rush Hour; Doctor Cooper, fresh from a Memorial Day triumph; Gallant Song, and the unbeaten Tempered Volo. All but Tempered Volo are expected to be among those present at Derby time.
