UMBRELLA MAN raced BAKED INDIAN into defeat to assume command on the turn, then continued to draw clear while winning easily. TRIBAL FIRE responded to pressure, but was no match for the winner. CLINK raced forwardly placed and evenly throughout. PLENTIFUL lacked a rally when set down. FIGHTING HARP failed to enter contention. BAKED INDIAN showed his usual speed to attain a commanding advantage, then quit when collared. NEXT BEST was unable to reach contention. LIBRAB moved to the fore on the turn, drew clear steadily and won with speed to spare. SPEEDY VAN raced MAKE HAY into defeat, but was unable to stay with LIBRAB through the final quarter. MAKE HAY was unable to shake off SPEEDY VAN early arid flattened out. AQUARIUS made a mild bid nearing the stretch and tired badly. DOROTHYS MISS lacked a response. CAMPER flattened out badly. SERGEANT MONK improved his position along the inside, was taken out for the final drive and wore down SURPRISING. The latter was always within striking distance of the leaders, attained command in the early stretch, but failed to withstand the winners closing bid. Rizzos claim of foul against the winner for alleged crowding through the stretch was disallowed. MARCH AGAIN closed with good energy after trailing for a half mile. OLD PATS rally was too late to threaten. SO SURPRISED set the pace and flattened out in the final furlong. RAIL CREEK showed nothing. EXCHEQUER was never a factor. WHITE HACKLE quit, as did MAD MAID. BLUE J0SIE moved through alone the inside to assume command in the run down the backstretch, was well rated to the stretch and drew clear-under intermittent urging. GARDEN WALL rallied from far back to wear down NEDS ACE. The latter raced forwardly placed and weakened. BLENWICK was in contention to the stretch and faltered. FEUD was unable to enter contention. STONY RIVER flattened out badly. DUSTPAN, steadied when unable to remain in contention early, lacked a spurt. TWICE TEDDY displayed speed and was impeded while weakening. TOP LUCK moved boldly nearing the stretch, fought his way between horses and hung in the drive. JAC. BRIER could not reach the top three while rallying mildly. DONT WAIT weakened badly, as did PEACEFUL SCOT. DILIGENT moved to the fore from the inside along the backstretch, gave way nearing the stretch and was bumped while tiring.
