Biddy Jane, Sweet Patootie Coming for Miss America DETROIT, Mich., June 2.— Mr. and Mrs. James R. Collins locally-owned Biddy Jane, recent Rancocas Stakes victress at Garden State Park, will leave here tonight to fill her Saturday engagement in Lincoln Fields Miss America Stakes. The Collins miss gave indication that she retains her excellent form before transferring to Hawthorne, stepping three-eighths mile here yesterday morning in a clever :34% handily. The speedy juvenile daughter of Psychic Bid and Melva Jane, by Wise Counsellor, reached the quarter mile marker in :22% under jockey Lois Cook, who is engaged to ride her Saturday in the Miss America. Mrs. E. E. D. Shaffers Sweet Patootie, a Swee Woman, by Roman, also is to move over to Hawthorne for the Miss America, according to announcement this morning by trainer H. H. "Pete" Battle. Sweet Patootie literally ran away from a fair band of youngsters Saturday afternoon, scoring a six lengths triumph at four and one -half furlongs in :53%.
