Bassett River Downs Visitor RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 2. — Ike Bassett, mid-central representative of the Jockeys Guild, was an early morning visitor at the stewards office. Bassett reported that approximately 45 riders, apprentices . and veterans would ply their trade at this mile track on the outskirts of Cincinnati. Bassett was well pleased with the condition of the grounds and voiced the opinion of the majority of the riders as to the fitness of the course.
