Sgt J K Buckley of Delaware Is Awarded Bronze Star StarDELAWARE DELAWARE PARK Stanton Del June 8 Sgt first class James K Buckley of Wilmington a Delaware turf club employe who served 11 months in Korea until his discharge in April has been awarded the Bronze Star for serving in a highly com ¬ mendable manner as a squad leader and platoon sergeant it has been announced by the Delaware military district districtCited Cited for displaying outstanding leader ¬ ship qualities sound practical judgment and great initiative Sergeant Buckley worked tirelessly to maintain an aggres ¬ sive determined unit which inflicted heayy casualties on the enemy in numerous en ¬ gagements His ability to cope with any emergency contributed to the high effi ¬ ciency and continued success of his unit the citation reads readsSergeant Sergeant Buckley was a sophomore at the University of Delaware when he went into the service He was in Korea for 11 months nine of which were spent in the lines
