Hotel to Be Built Near Garden State Park Track TrackAssociation Association Plans to Construct 1500000 Cherry Hill Inn InnCAMDEN CAMDEN N J June 9 Plans for the construction of a modern 100room hotel to be built near Garden State Park were announced today by Eugene Mori presi ¬ dent of the Garden State Racing Associa ¬ tion tionThe The hostelry will be erected on historic Cherry Hill on Route 38 where it is inter ¬ sected by Haddonfield Road in Delaware Township The site is on an eminence which commands a sweeping view of the nearby countryside countrysideThe The hotel is to be known as Cherry Hill Inn and work already has started on the demolition of the old Stiles mansion which stood on the hill For many years the house was used as the headquarters for Repub ¬ lican TownshipWe Party groups in Delaware Township We believe the hotel will be an asset to Garden State Park said Walter H Dono ¬ van executive vice president of the racing association Each race meeting brings growing numbers of owners and trainers from distant sections of the country and we feel that the advantages of a nearby hotel will be appreciated by these people as well as by many of our patrons patronsThe The building will be of a rambling coun ¬ try club tjpe of design boasting a swim ¬ ming pool big lounges bedroom with adjoining porches and huge lawns The site comprises 40 acres and the estimated cost of construction is one and a half million dollars It will be of brick and stone construction two stories high Arthur Froelich Los Angeles architect who has designed some of the most elaborate resort hotels in the country drew the plans for Cherry Hill Inn Work on the project will begin shortly after the old Stiles mansion is demolished
