Butch K Is Topweighted For AkSarBen Feature Ready to Turn Back Six Shifty Foes inQueens Plate Handicap HandicapBy By ART KENNEDY KENNEDYStaff Staff Correspondent CorrespondentAKSARBEN AKSARBEN Omaha Nebr June 9 Butch K the Marland Oklahoma home ¬ bred who was the mainstay last season of AkSarBens top moneywinning stable campaigned by the Shultz brothers Guy and Walter will have the chance to add another to his single triumph at the cur ¬ rent meeting Topweighted in the feature at the Omaha oval the AkSarBen Queens Plate Handicap an event for threeyear olds and upward at a mile and 70 yards the son of Whisk K is opposed by six others othersMost Most formidable of these would appear to be the twopronged entry of Mr and Mrs M H Robineau Mt Haro and Free Soul The former a three time winner at Santa Anita last winter set the pace for Butch K in the mile and onesixteenth event which was the scene of the Shultz racers lone victory with each carrying 113 pounds And though Mt Haro faded in the stretch from his early efforts a fivepound shift in his favor should prove beneficial tomor ¬ row rowFree Free Soul was beaten a short head by First Blue going a mile and onesixteenth after duelling with his conqueror for the entire journey Both finished three lengths to the better of Butch K on that occasion and the Robineau colorbearer only picks up two pounds over his assignment then Royals Last from the stable of Alice Likins seems to have rounded to form as evidenced by his determined effort last out whenhe forced Butch K to the utmost with the Shultz gelding beating him by a narrow margin The lHclns entrant is well suited by tomorrows weight assignment being in receipt of 10 pounds from Butch K or five more than the latter conceded him in their previous tussle tussleShikar Shikar the only threeyearold in tomor ¬ rows main event finished second to the nearphenomenal Gunner Lad Saturday although well behind the Cannons Roar colt Being a filly she seems somewhat overmatched here but her present condi ¬ tion is on a par with that which made her a fourtime victor earlier this year at Fair Grounds and Sportsmans Park
