Illinois Notes FAIRMOUNT PARK Collinsville HI June 9 9Claims Claims at the spring meeting are aver ¬ aging almost one per day with 12 horses changing ownership during the first 13 nights of racing Emil Roehm one of Americas top jockeys in the roaring twenties and now clerk of cales at Fairmount Park is endeavoring to outdo Freddie Craftbn Chicago area official as turf doms vBeau B r u m m e 1 Roehm is seen around the secretarys office sporting quite a new array of sport toggery Apprentice Robert Gaffglione who is presently riding at AkSarBen visited the local plant and announced that he may ride here during the last summer meeting George Hobach checked in at Fairmount and will take over the position of horse ¬ mens bookkeeper left vacant by the death of George Demarest Hobach is well known to horsemen on the Atlantic seaboard and comes here from his home at Miami Springs Florida Jockey Joe Hernandez arrived from the Ohio circuit and will ride free lance during the remainder of the spring meeting Her ¬ nandez started his career at the local track some 16 years ago agoJerry Jerry McHenry who recently entered the thoroughbred sport had the pleasure of witnessing his initial win as Hot Choc ¬ olate his sole representative downed a fair band of allowance sprinters here last Thursday McHenry plans on extending his stable in the near future futureBarbara Barbara Brown wife of agent L L Brown who handles the engagements of leading apprentice Kenny Griffith and the veteran saddlesmith Melvin Duhon has entered the binocular rental business
