LA MARIE, well up from the start, came out in the stretch and tired alter we:ning down FLIRTY, but held the latter sale. FLIRTY gamed a short advantage early, could not withstand the winner and also tired in the late sage*. COUNTRY BITTER went forwardly placed from the start, did not rally to pressure and also faltered in the closing drive. SUMMER NIGHT, away poorly, lore out leaving the backstretch and showed a good effort. NODS BOY bore out on the turn. DARK ALMA also heg;.n poorly. JUDGE DAYEY, a strong factor from the start and between horses much of the race, dropped back slightly in the stretch but came again and was up in the final stride. MAGNA RAY had speed from the start, drifted out on the stretch turn and. but for stumbling slightly near the end, might have lasted. LORD CAPRICE raced to the lead on the inside, but tired in the last sixteenth. PAPER CLIP lost much ground. SWIFT BOBBY was held safe. CAERIGHT could not improve his position. LITTLE BENGY began slowly and was far back throughout. PERSIAN RUG and LITTLE GRIF began slowly. Scratched— 77848 Kee-Ho, 118. GAY FRANKA. eased back when blocked approaching the turn, continued on the inside to the stretch, came out slightly for the orive and, holding on with determination, outstaved SNOW APPLE. The latter raced wide and well up after the first quarter, made a determined eltort in the drive and might have gotten up in another stride despite pulling up lame. SILVER TOY had spPcd but tired in the last three sixteenths. ILEFETCHIT bore in badly much of the race. VALDINA BRIGHT gave way suddenly. The others had no mishaps. The latter, well up from the start, reached the lead without need of Strong pressure but failed to withstand the winner, yet held on stubbornly. FIVE A. M. started up on the stretch turn and continued in determined fashion to the end. FETCHINGS BAR dropped back on the turn but came again. FIRE DUST, never a serious threat, fnished boldly. The latter, well rated, made her bid gradually and got to the front, but was not good enough. PRIVATE HOWIE took command on the inside and also tired when the real test came. TENSLEEP. taken in hand after a quarter, did not rally when called upon. DR. BONES was unable to keep up. BIG BRANDS SON. well In hand to the final quarter and brought out for the drive, slowly disposed of VALNOR and was drawing out at the end. VALNOR made her move gradually and, getting to the front, held on well, but was not good enough. SNOWFLY found room between hoises in the stretch but could not get to the leaders. NOSTRADAMUS tired badly in the lat quarters. SWEET HELEN dropped out of contention after seven-eighths. NEW GLORY quit. Overweight — Snowfly, 1 pound. Attendance, 12,963; Total Mutuel Pool, 70,321. Returned to Public, 83,289, Less Breakage.
