ALGIE was in close quarters while trying to make his move after leaving the backstretch, but came steadily on the outside of CORNISH KNIGHT in the stretch to wear him down and win drawing out. CORNISH KNIGHT made a strong run oh the outside after leaving the backstretch to get to the front on the stretch turn and, although going fairly well to the turn, was not good enough. JACOPADES was outrun early, but finished fairly well. BUVEL had early speed. AZURE and JOCK CLARK tired in the stretch. Scratched-00205 G. EXTINGUISHER dashed up on the jOulside in the first quarter, wrested the leadership from BOLD BRENNAN rounding the far turn, drew out while saving ground on the last turn and held the advantage. ETERNAL DAY was in rather close quarters early, came on steadily when clear and was up to be second in the last stride. BOLD BRENNAN faltered nearing the finish. ETERNAL FLIRT improved his position in a creditable effort . HARD FACTS dropped back after breaking alertly and was in close quarters. LADY MARILYN obtained a forward position early, then tired. PUFFBALL , raced beyond the middle of the track on the stretch turn and lost all chance. CARDEV improved his position gradually under urging and, overtaking FATHER TIBER in the last furlong, was going away under mild hand riding at the finish. FATHER TIBER dashed to the front at once and drew out after leaving the backstretch, then continued well when challenged, but was unable to resist the winner. ARGYLE displayed a fair turn of early speed, but weakened in the stretch. FIDDLER, outrun early, raced wide while making his move and was unable to threaten. FLIGHT ADMIRAL raced into contention on the outside in Ihe first quarter, but never seemed capable of getting to the front and weakened in the stretch. PROPELLER lost much ground on the stretch turn. CARD SHARP was outrun in the first part and lost ground while moving on the stretch turn, but came very fast in the middle of the track through the stretch to get to the front in the final fifty yards and won under hand riding. HYVANIA was slow tor begin, but reached a contending position after going three-eighths and came steadily thereafter. ROYAL MINT disposed of Ml AMIGA after going a quarter to open up a good lead and saved ground in the stretch, but faltered near the finish and was unable to resist the first pair. SAGITTARIUS was unable to outrun MAGIC WORDS in the first quarter, but gained ground on the inside in the stretch to obtain a slight advantage when MAGIC WORDS bore out near the end and lasted to win narrowly. MAGIC WORDS drew away from the field after leaving the backstretch and was held in fairly, well on the stretch turn, then bore out badly in the last sixteenth, thereby losing the race. SECNAV showed fair form in the stretch run to be best of the others. BUZFUZ was close enough to the stretch, then weakened nearing the finish and probably needed the race. UP BEAT tired. BETTER SELF went to the front right after the start and, well rated, withstood a mild challenge from CHICLE II. after going half the trip, then drew out nearing the stretch turn and, saving ground in the stretch, held sway to the finish. CHICLE II. showed good form in following the pace closely and also saved ground in the run home, but was unable to • seriously menace the winner, although finishing well. LOSER WEEPER began slowly and closed a big gap to finish gamely. FLYING MISSEL lacked early speed and failed to threaten, although making up some ground. ROYAL GOVERNOR was close enough in the first part while racing in the clear, but had little left for the final drive. ARISE was forced to race wide around the stretch turn and weakened. ASSIGNMENT took a good lead soon after the start and, after setting the pace under slight restraint, drew out when ready, never being in danger. SUN STATE lacked much early speed, but saved ground in the stretch and stood a drive gamely. SCHROON was always well up in an even effort. MONTE was in close quarters when ASSIGNMENT came over at the start, then raced to a fairly prominent position on the backstretch, but was not good enough. UPTOWN weakened after making a move nearing the stretch turn. BLUE ZAC was badly outrun and did not appear to like the going. CLEAN BROOM dropped completely out of it after going three-quarters. DAVID HILL made, up considerable ground while finishing fast. FOLLANSBEE was sent to the front early, Increased his advantage after going half the trip, but was used up from his-early efforts.
