Borghesi Is a good race horse, ran under restraint for a mile and three-quarters and, challenging Wire In at the head of the stretch and quickly disposing of him, won in a canter. Wire In followed Bill Curtis for a mile, then ran into the lead and held sway to the stretch, but succumbed easily to the winner. Banker put up a good performance, but tired rapidly in the final quarter and finished badly distressed. Marshal Ney ran a good race at the weights. Bill Curtis set the early pace, but failed to stay. Cholk Hedrlck set a tremendous pace aud ran the race of his career. Gilpin did his best, but finished a distant third. Lord Badge went well, but the pace was too fast for him. After a false break, in which all the horses but Alsono and Mattio Spencer ran the course, they were ordered lmck to the post. Alsono then took the lead at once and, showing the way throughout, won with speed to spare. 1 ender Crest ran in closest pursuit throughout and was an easing up second. Mattie Spencer ran fairly well, but was third only because of not taking part in the false race. The others were always outrun.
