Lord Nelson made the running throughout, but finished tiring. Fred Bent, a slow beginner and having an inside iwsi-tion, worked through a rough early journey and finished like a cyclone after making up a lot of ground. Rustic Lady tired right at the end of close and persistent-pursuit of the winner. Pentagon finished well up and going fast. Tavora, badly messed about and shuffled to the rear repeatedly, came with a belated rush in the stretch. Dangerous Girl was forced into the worst going on the inside and handicapped by it, evidently. Young Pilgrim, from an indifferent start, was reserved in the rear of "the Stiff early pace, but came along fast at the end in the inside deep going and made good in decisive fashion, rriiiee Magnet moved up rapidly on the last turn and appeared like the winner midway of the stretch, but tired. Bucolic, away badly, closed a big gap and ran a good race. Yo San forced the pace, but was badly messed about and his race is not to be taken seriously. The Reprobate tired from racing with the favorite. Blumeuthal ran fairly well. Americano quit badly after a close half mile pursuit of Yo San. Overweights-Bell Reed. 3 pounds. Good Luck, after running bard held for the first half, drew to the front -on the backstretch and cantered with a safe lead for the remainder of the journey. Nealon was in forward -and game contention throughout and easily saved second place. Hammeraway, interfered with on the first turn, ran prominently from the start, but tired in the closing drive, running a comparatively poor race. Eipiorum Rex outstayed the others, but was a beaten off fourth. J. K. l- ran a game race, but was outclassed. F. W. Barr failed to stay and palpably lacked sufficient preparation for such a trying course. Rey del Muudo and Tenordale were hopelessly outpaced. Preservator, after trailing far in the rear for a mile and an eighth, finished with a belated end rush. Modicum ran well for a mile, but failed to stay and was very sore before the race.
