MUCH ACTIVITY AT GRAVESEND. New York, February 22. This open weather is a boon for the horsemen at local tracks, particularly nt Gravcsend. Every morning this week lias been a busy one. Among the notables which arc getting first gallops at Gravcsend are Roseben. Oruiondale. Race King, Merry Lark, Oxford and First Water. These horses have all wintered well. First Water is showing steady improvement. Asterisk has just arrived from the farm. He looks rugged. "Father Rill" Daly is getting ready for Bennings. He has a speedy two-year-old filly by Peep oDay, out of n Melton mare. She is expected to "cut a melon" at the Washington track. Jockey Potter has joined the stable of George Krauss.
