Clem ran dose up to the stretch turn, where he jwined Deuxtenips and won out after a hard drive through the length of the stretch. Deuxtemps ran a good race and finished gamely, but suffered from rough riding by Hayes on the winner. Safeguard saved ground on the turns and closed a big gap in the stretch run. Captain Bob was reserved in the early stages, went to the front on the far turn when Martin called on him and won with plenty in reserve. Kickshaw set the early pace and was a close second all of the last half and ran to his best form. Usury was outrun in the first part of the race, hut finished with a rush and took third place in the last stride. Joe Lesser was .aider restraint for the first half niilu, but could not make good when called upon and ran below his true form. Tribes Hill ran fairly well only. Arabo ran a good three-quarters, but failed to stay. Attraction and Sigmund showed speed, but tired in the stretch.
