NOTES OF. THE TURF. Harney Sclireiber has wiped out his claims of creditors against his Woodlands farm In Missouri. A committee of churchmen have petitioned the attorney general of Kentucky to suppress the poolrooms at Newport. Secretary Macfarlan. or the New Memphis Jockey Club, is at New Orleans in quest of entries to the stakes for the spring meeting. Handspring is now safely installed at the MIII-stream Stud, Mt. Kisco. N. Y.. and will serv.; about twenty-four mares this spring. The license committee of the Jockey Club and the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association will meet today to pass upon the applications of trainers and jockeys. Edward Reynolds, aged 23, died of pneumonia at the home of Charles Ballinger, his brother-in-law. Louisville, Ky.. Monday afternoon. Mr. Reynolds at one time owned the horses Spec, Charley Slade, .Miss Mollie and Rill Nolan.
