Evelyn Grlllin raced quickly into the lead, increasing her advantage as the race progressed and won pulling up. Merry -go-Round improved her position rapidly In the last half Into an easy second, but was never able to menace the winner. Sfazel held .on well after strenuous early pursuit of the winner. Wheatstone maintained his position and finished well. Rosearo was shullled to the rear at the half. Sizz closed lip ground when too late, ladora displayed good speed for six furlongs. Pickaway was excessively urged- to force the pace and tired suddenly in the stretch when he appeared, to .have the measure of his opposition. Lansdown, shullled to the rear on the backstretch. came again and easily earned third place. Chablis closed a big gap from a poor send-off. The Reprobate raced into an early lead, hilt failed to stay. JackfuUwas never dangerous and can do much better. El Chihuahua, showed line early speed, but tired. Mabel Hollander was in game, but unavailing pursuit throughout Handmaiden; oh the inside; rati forwardly and finished gamely and ut for being forced into deep going at the end would have been second. .Tanana, away poorly, went wide on the turns, closing a big gap and was running fast at the end. elements failed to stay and was outclassed here. Corn Blossom, away slowly on the inside and inadequately handled throughout, came along "on the inside with a last, but belated closing sprint and may have been best Bekniglited tired in the closing strides of a long and heartbreaking pursuit of the winner. Dixie Lad trailed in the early running and outstayed the olhers of the field in the closing drive. A. Sluskoday failed to stay after forward contention for seven furlongs. The Lieutenant, from a good start, maintained a lucky forward position and, after being reserved for six furlongs, made good when called on in the stretch and ran a surprisingly good race. Shady Lad, away llatfooted. flashed through Into the lead on the Inside on the first turn and made the running to the final sixteenth before he succumbed. Buchanan, away badly and pulling up and jumping on horses on the first turn, loomed tip like the winner midway of the stretch, but tired suddenly and ran as if short. Briarthorpe ran prominently for six furlongs and then retired. The Lady Rohesia was never dangerous. Lone JVolf favors a very, difficult traek. Tocolaw. luckily, and forwardly placed from the start, ran in the best going, gradually overhauling the leaders on the outside and got up to win a lucky race in the last stride. Sir Edward, after close pursuit, joined the flying pacemakers in the stretch and. after swerving repeatedly clear across the track and as often picked up and straightened out again, was finally nailed right at the finish. Tom SIcGrath forced a terrific carapace to the stretch, where he tired as If short and will probably reverse this running later on. Lacene got away well and was well handled.
