Clyde, away favorably and rushed to the front, was then nursed along in the early stages and had enough left to stail off Budwelsers challenge. Budweiser lost ground by going a bit wide on the turn into the homestretch, but finished fast and gamely. Mary Morris finished nest to the inside rail and savpd ground on the turn into the homestretch, but had to be hard ridden all of the last furlong to outlast Queen Esther. Lord Radnor ran in behind Ohio King until going to the eighth jump, where he moved up, caught the leaders tiring in the stretch run and drew away without great effort. Lights Out put up a good performance and outlasted Ohio King in the final drive. The latter was much used in making the pace and tired when it came to the deciding drive.
