UNKNOWN BIDS UP JUNGLE IMP. Detroit, Mich, July C.-rJungle Imp, which was in great form today and ran one of his good races in the fifth, winning in a canter, brought to light a newcomer who appeared to be anxious to break into tiie business. He was an unknown. He "hoosted" the horse 00. His first bid was 1906.sh00, hut when Jungle Imps trainer bid the unknown followed with a similar amount as his second bid. When the official told him that they could not sanction such a bid, the uuknownsaid that he had as much right to raise it as the other fellow. The conditions were explained to him and he bid 00 and then .retired. No one seemed to know who he is and he said that he wanted to buy a good horse and was willing to give 00 for a horse and could not understand why Jungle Imps owner refused this amount, when he valued his horse at two hundred dollars less. Ed Trotter was a visitor this afternoon. Jockey Newman was set down Tor the meeting and fined 3 by starter Dwyer for persistent breaking through the barrier.
