ONE OF THE PUZZLING THINGS. "That beats anything I ever saw," said a well known horseman after Hermis had been knocked down to Alex Shields for ,000 at Sheepshead Bay, last Saturday. "There Is one of the greatest horses that ever looked through a bridle going for a song, while an American goes over to France and pays 5,000 for Adam, for instance. It is a shame, thats all I can say."
