Mescal ran well, but was tiring at the end and just managed to last long enough to stall off Society Buds challenge. The latter came again in the last sixteenth and finished gamely. Thespian was under a pull for the first live furlongs, went to the leader with a rush while rounding the turn into the homestretch, but tired in the final drive. Subtle wants a shorter route.
