JOCKEY A. MARTIN GETS A BAD FALL. Monterey Knocks Miss Gaiety Down Altai McDonalds Ownership Is Questioned. Detroit, Mich, June 17. The card at Windsor today was featureless, but the six races produced some close and exciting finishes. Favorites were bowled over with clock-like regularity after the first race and the eight books reaped a harvest. The biggest surprise of the day came with the running of the second race, when Petulant, the 1 to 2 favorite from the stable of George C. Bennett, ! went down In defeat, being outrun all the way by Abbacy, making her first start, at odds of 15 to Jockey A. Martin, riding Miss Gaiety in the fifth race, received a had fall. On the first turn Monterey lost bis rider and swerved into Miss Gaiety, causing her to fall. Martin was picked up and Bent to the hospital, where his injuries were pronounced serious. The ownership of Alta McDonald, which won, the last ra.ee in the name of It. Stickney, was questioned and the Judges ordered Mr. Stickney to file tomorrow his affidavit that he Is the sole owner of the colt.
