RICH FUTURITY FOR CALIFORNIA. "The California Jockey Club will shortly announce a valuable Futurity to he competed for every year," says the San Francisco Chronicle. "The complete details have not yet been arranged, but the race is to have an added value of ,000, so as to make It worth 0,000 to the winner. On a previous occasion the California Jockey Club gave a 0,000 Futurity which was won by Krishna. The event did not attract the big entry list that was expected, due to lack of advertising and the additional fact that J. B. Haggin failed to make any entries. At the present writing the directors of the California Jockey Club are In donbt as to whether to give this event in the spring or fall. The first Futurity will be run in 1900. The assoeiatlon will doubtless give another valuable stake and the chances are that the value of the California Derby will be materially increased. .
