A person backing an entry can only have the horse or horses that run as that entry to represent his bet. Gene Russell had been sold and was removed from being a part of the Burlew entry just as effectually as if he had been scratched. Backers had the option of backing Gene Russell separately if he was really the horse of their choice, and have no one but themselves to blame for not doing so.
