Grimaldi followed Lady Amelia closely for three-eighths, then passed her and appeared an easy wnner in the stretch, but finally had to be driven out to withstand Ben Ban. The latter was saved to the stretch, then came on fast and finished gamely and gaining. Zal closed a big gap quickly and finished a game and fast going third. Red River also made up much ground and finished with a rush. Lad Amelia showed superior early speed, but tired and should be benefited by this race. Don Knriqtie followed the winner closely, finished resolutely and ran an excellent race. Bed Friar got off badly, closed a big gap and finished with a rush. The latter was always in the front light iuid a fast going third. Flower Queen was well ridden and ran a fairly good race. Sungleam finished fcaniely. The others were beaten off at the finish.
