RUMORED EXTENSION AT OAKLAND. Oakland, Cal., March 26. — It is now considered probable that the winter racing season at the Emeryville track will be extended for about thirty days beyond its scheduled date of closing. Although the matter of extension had not been decided definitely when Tresident Williams left for his trip to southern California early in the .week, those in touch with the management of the New California Jockey Club are looking for the meeting to come to a close on Saturday, June 6, two weeks prior to the date of opening at Seattle. It is expected that Tresident Williams will make an announcement immediately upon his return from his southern trip. It has been announced officially that the Arcadia meeting will close on its scheduled date. April 4. and the termination of the season at the southern track will bring a host of horsemen here from Los Angeles and give fresh impetus to the sport for the balance of the season.
