HORSES WALKER TRAINS FOR WEINBERG. Memphis, Tenn., March 26. — George Walker, the American trainer, who is believed to still hold the record for training Derby winners, a mark he established when, while handling John W. Schorrs racing string, he won six western Derbys. including the California with Joe l-rey, the Tennessee with Lieber Karl, the St. Louis with Sam Ihillips, and Silverdale, and the Crescent City with Presbyterian, will start the German racing season next month with another formidable bunch of juvenile tlmb.r. a list of which has been forwarded to his relatives in this city. Walker has led the German turf for three seasons by training the Wcinlierg Bros, horses. in 1006 he trained the winner of the German Derby in Fels. Last season be trained Desir, the winner, after Fabula, the winter favorite in Weinl ergs string, developed lameness. He has also trained the winner of the Kaisers Shield for several successive seasons. Last season the combined winnings of the stable was 30S,74S marks, or nearly .V ,000. Fels leading the list with 124, iO0 marks, with Fabula close up with 121. COT marks. Walker is again training the favorite in the winter speculation for the German Derby in Faust. a brother to Fels, the 1006 winner of the race. l»roll. a speedy three-year-old. by Manners — odd Dream, therefore a half-brother to Desir, the 1007 winner, is also thought to possess a good chance for landing Walkers third straight Derby in the Fatherland. The two-year-olds this year are mostly sons of English Derby winners. There are sons and daughters of Orme, Galtee More including Fervor, half-brother to Faustus and Felsi; Ard Iatrick. Volo-lyovski. Florizel II. and Saint Serf. In addition to the older horses, Clavigo a, Rarrabas. 5. Ignis, .1; the four-year-olds Alvo, Desir, Grey Marble, Poly-carpus, Anmut, Fabula, Inira; the three year-olds Angriff, Droll, Faust, Horizont II., Illinois, Pal-lasch, Angola.
