The latter began slowly, but closed a big gap and. finishing with a rush, outgamed Red River at the end. The latter followed the fast early pacemaker 1 losely. but tired at the end. Ellicott showed speed, hut tired and was probably short. Centre Shot was on the in-dde all the wav and finished gamely and close up. Howard Shean. outrun for the first half, kept close to the rail and saved ground on every turn and when etitei ing the homestretch, where the leaders went wide, then outstayed Edwin Gum in the final drive. The latter, on the outside of the leaders all the way. made a game effort at the furlong post, but tired at the end. Ida May had a rough trip, was sharply cut off on the turn out of the backstretch and carried wide when entering the homestretch. W. I. Hindi hail no mishaps, set the pace to the stretch and quit badly. Patriot went well. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. .
