KING JAMES WELL FANCIED IN EAST. New York May 25. — Many of the horsemen who bav seen King Jaincs race, both In California last winter and here the other day when he won the Metropolitan, believe that Celt will have bis work cut out to beat that colt in the Brooklyn Handiest. King James has shown great improvement and is now a straight, true -running horse. King James Used to canv the rogues badge, as the blinkers are called, and had an inclination to take to the lail and never leave it. Now be races where wanted without blinkers, he breaks away well, and when it Ceases to racing he breezes by his opponents in the style of a champion to wl 1 nothing is difficult. That is a likely sort of horse to have in a race like the Brooklyn, especially if he has speed and can rate any distance from six furlongs to a mile and a half. This may he one of the big races that Mr. Keens hasnt a mortgage on. therefore, unless Celt is a real good horse again this year. That Celt will be tit mav very well be left to trainer Rowe. who slipped Hilarious out on Saturday to win the Withers in a gallop.
