PREPARATIONS FOR EMPIRE CITY MEETING. New York, July 7. James Butler and Matt J. Winn of the Empire City Itacing Association are busy these davs preparing for the coming meeting at Yonkers. The stable room of the Yonkers plant lias been increased materially and the superintendent iias a bunch of carpenters and painters at work getting things trimmed up. The Empire Citv Association will race six days :i week at Yonkers this summer and probably as innnv in the fall. Mr. Winn says that every indication points to a successful meeting. Horsemen will have sniail cause to complain of an unequal distribution of monev at Yonkers. The Empire City Association has no big produce purses to make good and Mr. Winn can arrange bis program in such style as to make wliat money the association can afford to put up for horsemen go a long way. William Gersts horses, in charge of trainer James Blute. are already installed at the Empire City course. The shipment from Latonia was accomplished without mishap or Incident. .
