Strome-land, off forwardly, followed the leaders under slight restraint on the outside and escaped interference on the turns, closed up Willi a rush in the stretch and, wearing Ragman down, drew away iu the last sixteenth, llagmau was much used in racing with Sir Edward and tired at the end after disposing of the latter. Sir Edward outbroke the others and showed the; most early speed, hut tired in the stretch drive. De Burgo closed a big gap. Paul Ruluart tired. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Vneie Jimmie Gray slipped through on the inside on the far turn and hung on gamely under punishment in the stretch. Uncle Toby was on the outside for the entire trip and finished with a rush. Wool Sandals began slowly, but closed a big gap and covered more ground than anything in the race. Sea Swell ran well to the stretch and tired. Little Osage ran a bad race and can do much better. The slow pace suited Ceremonius and he was going easily for the first mile and hung on longer than usual. Red Hussar was hard ridden ail of the last quarter, but was unable to; improve his position. A dog ran out in front of the field just after the start and Campaigner, after stumbling for ten yards, was bumped into and fell. Jack Baker fell over him. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
