CONSIDERS SIR MARTIN OVERWEIGHTED. New York. July 7. John Huggins, who recently returned from England and who had ,500 on Sir Martin to win the Derby, could not teli how he lost his money. "W4iy," said he. "when Sir Martin fell he was all of tliree-qnarters of a mile away from where I was, and how could anybody tell at that distance what had happened? I thought William the Fourth ran as good a race as any horse in the Derby. He was badly interfered with. I had my mind made up to go to Paris and back him to win the Grand Prix. Now I am glad I didnt go to France. Sir Martin ran in the Royal Hunt and didnt win. How could he? He wasnt able to do the impossible. No three-year-old has ever won the race with the weight they put on him, and none ever will. He isnt in anything over there and I dont know when he will start again."
