THE EQUALITY STAKES fr One of the latest creations of the Coney Island Jockey Club, the Equality Stakes only dates back to 1902 and was devised as a sjRcial event for the fast niilers. with the expectation, which lias not been realized, that in its running the fastest mile of record might be made and, perhaps, held as a feature of the event. Extremely fast horses have contested the Equality and it has never been run in slow time, but 1:38, by Dolly Spanker in 1004, is its fastest record and in that respect it lias been somewhat disappointing. The Equality is run tills year as. an overnight closing race and its record is. as follows: Vear. First. Age. Jockeys. Wt. Second. Age. Wt. Third. Age. Wt.
