PLANS FOR THE JOLIET MEETING. Some of the horses that were shipped to Paducah, Ky.. for the race meeting which was scheduled to begin there yesterday, but which was declared oft on account of local opposition, will be transferred to .Toliet to await the opening of the mixed meeting at Ingalls Park August 24-2S. On each of the first four days of the meeting, two running races will be sandwiched in with the trotting and pacing races, but Saturday, August 2S. will be entirely devoted to the runners. The .Toliet management will hang up ,000 In purses for the fourteen running races that will be given during the meeting. It is understood that if the racing is sufficiently patronized and goes along smoothly, the management of the track will extend the meeting.
