NEW YORK DECISION FAVORS POOLROOMS. Albany, N. Y.. July 8. County Judge Addington of Albany yesterday held that under the Hart-Agnew law. corporations cannot be punished for maintaining poolrooms because the laws only provide as penalties a sentence of Imprisonment. He holds that it is not possible to punish a corporation by Imposing a sentence of imprisonment. The decision was given on a motion by counsel for the Municipal Telegraph and the Eastern Telegraph companies of Albany for an arrest of judgment In their cases. , The companies were Indicted for poolselling and through their attorney a plea of guilty had been entered and application made for the arrest of judgment.
