Scruples sprinted away from her opponents in the first furlong, maintained her speed longer than in her previous race , and won easing up. Fair Louise broke slowly and dropped back in the first sixteenth, but closed up gamely In the stretch run and finished with a rush. Olivia Miekle followed the pacemaker closely for a half and tired in the stretch drive. Musgrave had to pull Patsalaga up soon after the start to straighten her out when she tried to bear over to the inside. Winter Day showed speed. Chief Kce is a much better colt than he has been rated. Outrun for tlie first furlong, lie closed up rapidly when settled in Ids stride and was sharply cut off when he attempted to go through on the inside, then moved up with a rush after entering the homestretch and drew away into an easy lead at the end. Clem Beachey outbroke the others and showed the most early speed, but tired in the last sixteenth. Gallant Pirate was a close contender to the furlong post, but tired in the final drive. Cave Adsum was waited with until rounding the far turn, then closed up on Glimmer when entering the homestretch and drew away in the last sixteenth. Glimmer showed great speed In the early running and ran a good race, but was driving all of the last furlong to stand off The Minks challenge. The latter closed a big gap and finished resolutely. Won cantering; second and third driving. Crania, easily lest, dashed to the front on the first turn and, leading all the way, was only cantering at the end. Desperado moved up with a resolute challenge when making the turn into the homestretch, but could not get near the winner. Won driving; second and third the same. Hooray began slowly and was not hurried any in the early running, moved up gamely on the far turn and, after a long stretch drive, outstayed Reldmborc. The latter began quickly and set the early pace, hut was taken back and lost the race by making a wide turn into the homestretch. Giles was messed about for the entire trip and under stout restraint until in the last furlong. The winner bore over to the inside when making the turn Into the backstretch and crowded Howard Shean so that the latter fell. Dredger showed speed, hut tired. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
