FALL MEETING FOR SALT LAKE CITY. Utah Jockey Club Leases Buena Vista Park and Will Race for Thirty Days. Salt Lake City, Utah, August 2. The Utah Jockey Club, whose lease of the Fair Grounds track in this city was unexpectedly terminated before the expiration of the dates allotted for the spring meeting here, will not abandon Utah as a racing field. W. II. Gleuson, W. W. Finn and the Utah people interested in the club have taken a lease, covering an extended term of years, on the old Buena Vista race course, just outside the city limits. This track lias not been in use for racing purposes for fifteen years, but is in such an excellent state of preservation that the expense of putting it in. condition for. racing will be much less than might he .expected., The track Is ;i mile -in circumference. Manager Finn of the Utah Jockey Clnb awarded a contract Inst week for the Immediate construction of :!00 stalls, a bleacher grandstand :250 feet in length, betting shed, paddock and fences. The contractors have agreed to turn over the plant to the Utah Jockey Club In spick and span condition on Sept. 1. The Utah "jockey Club has obtained dates from the Pacific Jockey Club for a meeting of thirty days duration, to begin Sept. IS. I. I". Pomeroy and Richard Dwyer, who officiated respectively as presiding judge and starter during the spring meeting of the Utah Jockey Club, will till the same positions at the fall meeting.
