NOTES OF THE TURF. i Margaret Randolph has developed into a bleeder. Jockey C. II. Shilling has left the northwest for his home in Texas. Trainer W. R. Grillin will freshen up Earl G. at Belmont Park for fall racing. Jockey II. Smith lias lieeu Indefinitely suspended at Butte for unsatisfactory riding. H. G. Iiedwill won the opening and closing races ; of the Yonkers meeting just closed. The horses of P. S. P. Randolph and C. F. Clark reached Saratoga yesterday from Yonkers. Reyhourn, which went to Saratoga sore, looks like a fresh horse as a result of his few days sojourn at ; the Spa. Piute, winner of the Canadian Derby; is said to , have gone amiss and may not be able to lace at Saratoga. Firelnix and the rest of the horses owned by John 1 Loiighlln have been turned over to Trainer S. S. Marshall. The further entry of Kumiss is to be refused at - Butte, on account of her uncontrollably . bad behavior at the post. II. M. Mason, who has been training for W. OB. . Macdoiiough in California the past two years, has put in an appearance in the east. Charles Casev. who handled the French mare, Glnette, when she was in her best form, intends to open a public stable on the New York tracks. All the horses in the Hildreth stable have been i doing well at Saratoga. King James and Uncle l especially have been going along in the right way. Herkimer,- the bay colt by Chuctuuuiida Aurics-ville . and Baron Dleskau, by Ilockton Euphrata, are said to be the best of the Sanford string of Juveniles. Saratoga track does nut appear to be especially fast. The dust is thick and deep and there has 5 lieen a grievous lack of rain in the vicinity for some - time. J. J. King has purchased the two-year-old bay colt. Orsitolat. by Orsini Saintolat. which T. E. . Crist has been training for Barney Sehreiber at Victoria, - B. C. The William Gerst horses. In charge of trainer - r James lllute. have reached Windsor from Yonkers. ; The string includes Colloquy. Donau. llalket and 1 Billy Bodomcr. One of the strong features of the Saratoga meet- lug will be the racing through the field. There are plenty of Junipers at the Spa, and they are all lit 1 and ready ,for the best they can do. Joseph Jiinies has sold the two-year-old bay colt, Abihu. hv CVsariou Hebrew Maid, to James Walker r at Victoria. B. C.
