Tim Pippin drew out in the first stride and spreadeagled his opposition under a pull. Ruble broke unexpectedly well and was outpaced for half of the journey, but closed a gap at the end and is good. George W. Lebolt ran in nearest and strenuous pursuit, but tired in the final drive for second place. Personal ran forwardly for live furlongs, but failed to stay, as usual. Quantlco ran moderately well up throughout. Sandpiper, nearly, left, closed a considerable gap. Sundance loomed up on the far turn, but tired and probably was short. Descomnets was never dangerous. Pete ran in brief prominence. The winner was entered for i3,000; no bid. Byzantine, badly outpaced for the first mile, made up ground steadily in the last round and came on and won alone when Grandpas jockey was unseated at the last jump. Marksman showed superior early speed, but tired badly and was beaten off by the other two when Grandpa gave way and enabled hini to be second, being palpably short. Grandpa took the lead at the end of the first mile and held sway by a wide gap, seeming a certain winner until after landing badly and unseating his rider at the last jump, was then remounted and finished. Malacca ran forwardly,. but fell early. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. . Fauntleroy, from an inside slow start and In close quarters, steadily improved his position and got up for second place in the last stride. Amelia .Tenks, from an inside poor start, was hemmed In early, but closed up rapidly in the last half after a wide last turn anil finished fast. Shannon, away badly, closed a big gap and finished a close up fourth. Rocky OBrien set the pace to the stretch and tired. Dalhousie showed superior early speed, but failed to stay. Herkimer, a grand looker, lapped the pacemaker under a pull to the stretch, then went very wide and drew out briellv in the stretch, but tired badly finally. Kings Daughter drew out quickly and made the running to the last couple of strides before she sucemnlted. Campaigner, luckily and lor-wardlv placed, loomed up on the stretcli turn, but tired in the closing drive. John Carroll was never dangerous and outpaced decisively all the way.
