FRENCH WOULD RE-PURCHASE ADAM. New York, August 24. Francis C. Bishop, who paid 1909.sh5,000 to Edmund Blanc for the Flying Fox stallion, Adam, and subsequently sold the horse at Paris last year, says that M. Blanc is organizing a syndicate to purchase Adam from the Hungarian government and re-establish him in France. The performances of two of Adams first two-year-olds have demonstrated that France lost a good horse when Adam was permitted to go to Hungary last fall. A colt and a filly by Adam have shown especially well. The filly. Marsas. after defeating the best fillies iu France, took on a bunch of colts and beat them. She is fast, game and she manages weight well. Attain was bred by M. Blane and he was a successful race horse. He won six straight races as a two-year-old and three at three. After his purchase by Mr. Bishop he was brought to this country and established at the Mlllstreain Stud, where ho served it number of mares at ,000 per service. The two-year-olds racing in France are not Anierican-hred. They are from mares mated with Adam at M. Blancs before Mr. Bishop bought him. The oldest youngsters by Adam bred in this country are now yearlings. Mr. Bishop sold Adam in France last fall because things looked squally for racing in tills country. The horse was knocked down to an agent of the Hungarian government at public auction for 7,090. Mr. Bishop thinks it improbable that M. Blancs syndicate will succeed in rc-purchasing him. The Hungarians wanted him apparently to improve the native stock of the country or they would not have sent to Paris for him.
