YEARLINGS GO EAST FROM KENTUCKY. Lexington, Ky.. August 24. The first shipment of Kentucky thoroughbred yearlings to the fall sales at Sheepshead Bay was made from here this morning. There were two carloads, embracing ten from J. P. Chlnns Leonatus Stock Farm, near Harrodsburg, nine belonging to Colonel Milton Young, six the property of John D. Carr, five from George H. Whitneys Melrose Stud, four from Thomas Piatts farm, four belonging to Benjamin Woodford of Paris and three the property of Horace N. Davis of Lexington, making a total of fortv-one. Colonel Young. Mr. Carr, Dr. M. M. Loach and several others accompanied the yearlings east. Twelve of the youngsters are the get of Cesarion. The star of the Cesarion colts is the half-brother to the Latonia Derby winner. Hand Or. from the producing marc Fleur dOr. by Rayon dOr. This colt won the premium in a ring of nine yearlings at the recent Blue Grass Fair. In the Leonatus Stock Farm consignment are four colts and two fillies by Ort Wells that have been much admired by good judges. This is the second crop by the son of King Eric and Teas Over. His two-year-olds number only two the fillies. Lady Frederick and Roberta, both of which have started but not won. Among these Ort Wells yearlings is a half-brother to Lady Holyrood, half-brother to Colonel .Jack, half-brother to Transmute and half-brother to Don Or. This consignment is. to go under V the hammer Tuesday next and will bo the first offering of yearlings for the September sales period. Along with these yearlings .Manager Charles Me-Craekeu of the Midstream Stud sent the bay lilly bv Adam Eilangowan for which Frank M. Bishop of the Newcastle Stable last week paid Messrs. T. .L and G. II. Clay of the Balgowan Stud .,000. She will be turned over to trainer Thomas Welch upon her arrival at Sheepshead Bay. Mr. Bishop is reported to have cleaned up ,000,000 within the last few davs in Wall street, thereby recovering about one-third of the amount ho hud lost as a result of the late panic.
