" NOTES OF "THE TURF. " " Capt. E. B. Cassatt will begin, his eastern campaign at Pimlico. A. G. Blakelcy and Earl Llnnell have arrived at Pimlico from Juarez with their horses. Harry I. Stone, the former cross-country rider, has bought the two-year-old Rosini from Thomas Murphy. Eugene El rod nnd Tom Brown, who will be officially conected with the - Kentiicky meeting, have reached Cincinnati. In Lon Johnsons string at Churchill Downs are Carlton G.. Day Mav, Marv Lee Johnson, Itedwine, Bob Co and Strike Out. Frank G. Hogan of Pasadena, :Cal., and Roy Egan of Pet.iliuna, Cal.. are financially interested in the "new racing enterprise near Salt Lake City, Utah. Boy Cassidy. who trained for JV C. Ferriss, did not return to Kentucky with his employer, having decided to remain at El Paso because of lung trouble that he developed last year. Some horses intended for racing at Pimlico are being prepared at Benning, the course of the Washington Jockey Club. It is there that C. B. Thomas has his good mare Aunt .Title, which giv.es promise of training well after having been tired last fall. Powell and Parker are among the owners who will race at Albuquerque, N. M.. during the liftcen-da.vs meeting scheduled to open at that place April 15. They plan to dispose of Veno Von. Balella and Royal Stone in the west before coming to Kentucky for a .summer campaign. Albert Simons has leased the running qualities of six of Harry Payne Whitneys two-year-olds for the season. They are Moisnnt. Blow Out, Monsieur X., Thirty Four. Margeruni and Doodle Dandy. Mr. Simons has been racing the lot since early in the year and they are now at Jamestown. W. G. Yanke did not go to Kentucky from Juarez with Round the World and the other horses he sent there. Mr. Yanke proceeded to his old home in San Francisco and sent Gilpy. Soon and some, other horses to California in charge of trainer J. . II. Armstrong to lie rested until next winter. Mr. Yanke will come cast in time for the Lexington meeting. Lyman Davis, secretary of the New Louisville Jockey Club, is at Hot Springs, Ark., seeking to regain his health. Reports have been received to the effect that his condition is greatly improved and he expects to lie able to participate in the spring meeting at Churchill Downs.. In the event that he is not fully able to discharge his wonted duties, Edward Jasper and W. II. Shelley will relieve him of part of the work.
