Steads imported horse Nassau has arrived at his new quarters at Yaldhurst. New Zealand, after a tine trip from England. Nassau, which is by the St. Simon horse William the Third, from Stolen Love, cost Mr. Stead, it is understood. 2.000 guineas. In New Zealand there are a large number of licensed jockeys who do not ride. Whether it is oaring to the lack of opportunity or no particular desire to follow their calling after taking out licenses is not known. In liilO-11 sixty-nine jockeys 1 did net get a mount. Risico is trained by the- Knglish trainer Frank Butters, and with Kerb in the saddle he defeated fourteen others.
