PRESENTS STALLIONS TO GOVERNMENT. New York. May S. — August Belmont yesterday presented the ten-year old thoroughbred -tallion Merry Task to the federal government and the horse, which is now a member of Mrs. Herbert Wadsworths Ashantee Stud in the Genesee Valley, will be shipped to Frmt Royal. Virginia, July 1. Merry Task is by Octagon — Merry Token. He was a good performer in England, where he won the London Cup and other good races. Superintendent Kane has reported the following foals at August Belmonts Nurseiy Stud, near Lexington: Chestnut colt by Fair Play — Nineveh; ch. c, by Vulcain — Fairy Gold; ch. f. by Fair Play — St. Priscilla; b. f, by Fair Play— Violet Ray: b. f, by Danger Rock — Anna Russell; ch. c, by Fair Play — Ferment; b. f, by Vulcain — Delusion; ch. c. by Trap Rock — Luxury; ch. c, by Fair Play — Mahabah; b. or br. f. by Watervale — Dr. Hante Roche. Edward Madden, eldest son of John E. Madden, has joined the colors. John Madden has cultivated 10.000 acres of one of his farms in Kentucky for food products to be in line with the governments request.
