CHEYENNE MEETING COMES TO A CLOSE .," " Kegarded as Assuring Racing in the Future Casoy Jones Breaks Down. Cheyenne, Wyo., September 8. With the running of todays card, the initial nineteen days meeting, given by the Cheyenne Thoroughbred Breeders Association came to a close. The management hero are amply satisfied-with the result of their venture to establish racing in Cheyenne. Treasurer John A. Talbott .stated that, while their losses are small, the future of racing here is assured. It was a good meeting, considering that the local public was green to the mutuel method of wagering, but as the meeting progressed, they became more adept to it. The scarcity of horses was no drawback. The majority of the fields Avere small, but the horsemen responded liberally to the daily cards offered by Manager Finn and those that raced here, have given him assurances that they will all return here for the next years opening. , The racing, as a whole, was kept clean, as presiding steward A. T. Dobson was ever on the alert and checked up all offenders summarily. James Haley did excellent work at the barrier with the material that he had to contend with. Few of the riders are accomplished and the others never had ridden before with a starting gajfe. The exodus of horsemen starts t.omomrow for Reno.
